Munich, 2. August 2022: Officium GmbH, a portfolio company of the investment company EMERAM, has completed the acquisition of Delta-t Messdienst GmbH in Pegnitz, Bavaria, successfully continuing its buy-and-build strategy. Officium is one of Germany's leading independent submetering services providers for the metering and billing of water and heat for the housing industry. As parent company of regional submetering services providers, the company has acquired eight providers within the past 20 months including the current transaction and manages more than one million submetering devices.
With the latest acquisition - a succession solution - Officium is now also present in Upper Franconia, after having been already represented in neighbouring Lower Franconia since September 2021. The now acquired Delta-t Messdienst GmbH in Pegnitz has a strong regional customer base. In addition, it is the franchisor of the Delta-t brand which is used by around 20 regional submetering services providers nationwide. The current management will accompany the integration and the future growth plan.
Dr. Johannes Benzing, Principal at EMERAM Capital Partners, explains: "The market for submetering services is very attractive. In addition to a few large players, there exist many smaller, regionally active companies. This offers Officium significant organic and inorganic growth opportunities. EMERAM Capital Partners considers itself as Business Development Partner who actively promotes Officium's successful buy-and-build strategy."
Stephan Kiermeyer, Managing Director of Officium, adds: "Delta-t Messdienst GmbH in Pegnitz complements our business perfectly with its large customer base and as franchisor of a well-established brand. Following this acquisition, Officium will continue its consolidation strategy in the market for submetering services. With our experience and innovative strength, for example in digital solutions, we are a strong partner for house owners and property managers as well as for entrepreneurs looking for a succession solution. Our pipeline for further growth is well-filled."
Alexander Eckert, Managing Director of Delta-t Messdienst, comments: "Officium exhibits an impressive growth trajectory. Our franchisees as well as our customers and employees will benefit from Officium's comprehensive know-how, service quality and new services. At the same time, we continue to have a regional presence and stay close to our customers, using the charisma of our established brand and aiming to further accelerate our chosen growth path with the support of Officium. We are grateful to the management for the discussions at eye level. Above all, we were convinced by the common philosophy to serve customers regionally - both now and in the future. In this respect, we are looking forward to a promising future within the Officium group."
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Officium was advised by Noerr (Legal) and Alvarez & Marsal (Financial).
