- Further takeovers planned as part of the buy & build strategy
Munich, 23 December 2021: Officium GmbH, a portfolio company of the investment company EMERAM, has completed the acquisition of Wärme-Mess-Service GmbH in Salzgitter, and continues its consolidation strategy. Officium is a leading independent submetering and energy services provider for the metering and billing of water and heat in the housing industry and acts as a parent company for several regional companies. Officium has already acquired three providers in recent months.
The now completed acquisition of Wärme-Mess-Service GmbH as part of a succession plan strengthens Officium's market position in Lower Saxony. Members of the existing management of Wärme-Mess-Service GmbH, founded in 2000, will accompany the further development. Officium is currently primarily operating in Berlin, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia (e.g. Düsseldorf and Duisburg), Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt (Dessau-Roßlau), Saxony (Dresden and Chemnitz) and Lower Franconia.
Markus Gyssler, Partner at EMERAM Capital Partners, says: "Officium is pursuing its consolidation strategy rapidly. With its fourth acquisition this year, the company is now also tapping into the Lower Saxony market. New digital services and further acquisitions will strengthen the company's position in the future. EMERAM Capital Partners supports Officium's growth path as a business development partner."
Stephan Kiermeyer, Managing Director of Officium GmbH, explains: "The market for submetering and energy services remains in transition due to changing framework conditions. We still see considerable growth potential. Thanks to EMERAM's support, we are able to push our buy & build strategy continuously and successfully complete 2021 with our fourth acquisition."
Axel Reinecke, Managing Director at Wärme-Mess-Service GmbH, comments: "Officium is a strong partner in our segment, has sound expertise and knows the regional markets very well. We are pleased that this transaction could be closed quickly. Our employees and customers will benefit considerably from the cooperation with Officium."
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Officium was advised by Noerr (Legal).
