Investment company EMERAM signs United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI)

Munich, 8 March 2022: EMERAM Capital Partners, one of the leading investment managers for medium-sized companies in German-speaking countries, is strengthening its sustainability management and has joined the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) network. EMERAM thus follows the six principles for sustainable investment (ESG). In this way, the investment company wants to contribute to the transformation towards a climate-neutral society as well as to a socially responsible and transparent corporate governance.

CO2 emissions significantly reduced
At EMERAM, sustainable management along the three ESG dimensions is firmly integrated into EMERAM’s corporate strategy and the company's positioning as a business development partner for small and medium-sized enterprises. For the management and reporting of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria, the Munich-based investment company uses the ESG Performance Monitoring Framework of base camp management consulting. This framework defines and monitors concrete goals and their implementation. For example, the CO2 emissions of the portfolio companies were significantly reduced in 2021, the diversity of employees was increased and, in the area of governance, fund-wide guidelines for compliance and corporate governance were implemented at the portfolio companies.

Markus Gyssler, Partner of EMERAM Capital Partners, says: "A few years ago, we introduced a portfolio-wide and standardised ESG-related reporting system. It is based on carefully selected KPIs to measure the individual progress of our portfolio companies on the one hand, and on the other hand, to compare their ESG-related targets with best practices in their respective core sectors. We have now signed the Principles for Responsible Investment of the PRI Investor Initiative in partnership with several United Nations councils. In this way, we are starting the next stage in our role as an investor and business development partner to support our portfolio companies in implementing environmental, social and governance guidelines."

United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI)
The UN PRI (www.unpri.org) is considered the world's leading sustainable investment initiative. Since its launch in 2006, more than 4,000 companies, organisations and institutions worldwide have signed the Principles for Responsible Investment. The objective is to integrate ESG factors into investment decisions and to promote sustainable business. The PRI is independent but supported by the United Nations.
