German digital experts initiate one of the largest hackathons in 2019
Digital business is booming - and allows companies to grow. Satisfied and motivated employees are more than ever the key to corporate success. The two portfolio companies Matrix42 and diva-e Digital Value Excellence of EMERAM Capital Partners, one of the leading German investment companies for medium-sized companies, believe in this. In order to cope with the sustained strong growth of both digital companies, they will continue to rely on innovative and respectful HR management in 2019. This includes the continuation of the success story of the "hack is in the air"-HackWeek, one of the largest in-house events of its kind. With this innovative format, the two companies are creating a smart space for employees from a wide variety of disciplines and locations in order to shape progress to a high degree - and above all to enjoy project work outside of everyday working life. The superior goal is for all 250 participants to return highly motivated and strengthened to their daily project and customer work. The HackWeek will take place from 26th to 29th January 2019 at the Bavariastudios in Munich.
IoT, Cloud, AI – everything that inspires the spirit of innovation is allowed
Employees from a wide variety of company divisions - for example frontend, backend, content, marketing, HR and graphics - jointly develop innovative topics and work on one of over 40 hacks. The cooperation benefits in particular from the many different perspectives. Regardless of the skill profile and level, each of the committed employees can contribute knowledge and gain insights into other areas. At the same time, colleagues who have little in common in their everyday professional lives meet and interact with each other. The results are innovative prototypes or beta versions from which colleagues and customers of both companies can benefit.
"Our HackWeek is the ideal platform to illuminate the rapid developments of the market in a creative and fun way away from the day-to-day business - and to actively shape it with your own ideas. Especially for younger employees such an event lowers the inhibition threshold to get involved. This promotes team spirit and a sense of togetherness", says Axel Jahn, CEO diva-e Digital Value Excellence GmbH.
"There can be no progress without passion for the cause. That's why our HackWeek is so important: All employees can get involved with personal projects and concerns that have been with them for a long time. The results are often truly remarkable and can be used profitably in practice, as we know from our previous HackWeeks", says Oliver Bendig, CEO Matrix42 AG.
"We have decided to implement one of the largest German hackathons in order to sustainably promote and strengthen the innovation potential and growth of our portfolio companies. As an investor, we want to take full advantage of opportunities and potential. We actively support development in the digital age," says Fabian Furtmeier of EMERAM Capital Partners.
